Edge AI runs models on the user's device. Benefits include privacy, latency, offline capability, and zero per-call cost. Trade-offs: smaller models, battery use, deployment complexity. Apple Intelligence, Gemini Nano, and on-device fine-tunes are pushing edge AI into mainstream products.
