What is
Crawl Budget?

The number of URLs a search engine will crawl on a site within a given timeframe.

Definition

Crawl budget is finite. For very large sites (>10k pages), Google won't crawl every URL every week. Optimizing crawl budget — by removing thin pages, fixing redirect chains, prioritizing important sections in sitemaps, and using internal links carefully — directly impacts how fast new content gets indexed.

Example

A 50k-page e-commerce site discovers 30% of its pages haven't been crawled in 90 days; a sitemap and internal-linking cleanup recovers 40% within a month.

How Vedwix uses Crawl Budget in client work

Sites over 5k pages get an explicit crawl-budget audit as part of SEO.
