Clean URLs are short, descriptive, lowercase, hyphen-separated, and avoid query parameters where possible. Subfolders (/blog/post) consolidate domain authority better than subdomains (blog.site.com). Once URLs are public, changing them costs SEO equity — pick the structure deliberately upfront.
